The results of TRITon are expected to be in large part exploited in the test sites made available by PAT. These are constituted by four real road tunnels, illustrated in the map above: click on the icon to see additional information as well as a picture of the tunnel.

The test sites are:

  • Cadine (630 m): artificial tunnel, double carriageway
  • Montevideo (1415 m): natural tunnel, single carriageway with unidirectional traffic (towards Trento)
  • Forte (816 m): natural tunnel, single carriageway with unidirectional traffic (towards Riva del Garda)
  • S.Vigilio (400 m): natural tunnel, single carriageway with unidirectional traffic (towards Trento)
These four tunnels belong to a network that essentially provides access to the city of Trento from the West. As such, they also provide an opportunity for experimenting integrated management of the system composed of the four tunnels.
